Some of you may remember me as the former Director of the Point Alpha Foundation, which takes care of OP Alpha. The Foundation preserves the memory of this historic site and hot spot during the Cold War and your service "on Freedom's Frontier." Since 1995, about 1.5 million people have visited the exhibitions at the OP and in the "House on the Border," which tells the story of the development of the border between 1945 and 1990 in the context of the Cold War.
During my active time as Director, we were able to establish excellent relations with veterans, the Blackhorse and 14th CAV Associations, as well as USAREUR. To take advantage of this existing network that has developed over the years, I have been assigned as the "Liaison Officer" between the veterans and their organizations and the Foundation.
I am proud and honored by this assignment and look forward to discuss future projects with you and will provide you with news about the memorial and its
development.
One of the next projects will be the installation of a path for paver stones that can be ordered through me. (More information on that will follow soon.)
For those of you planning a trip to Germany and/or OP Alpha, please let me know. I can provide assistance on English speaking guides at Point Alpha or any other issue related to your visit in Geisa/Rasdorf.
Feel free to get in touch with me at any time!
