Blackhorse Specialty License Plates State of Texas
It took eleven months from the time the idea was formed until the plates are available to order, but Texas Veterans and current members of the Regiment with Texas residency will have 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment specialty license plates to put on their personal vehicles.

These license plates will be available to order from the Texas DMV on September 1, 2017. If ordering online, go to the Texas DMV website, complete the form, and follow directions. plates/itemlist/filter?category%5B%5D=61&moduleId=185&Itemid=145

Texas Blackhorse Veterans will have to submit a copy of their DD Form 214 with the license plate application. If you don't have a copy of your DD Form 214, you can order one here:
You will not have to pay extra for these plates, though you will still have to pay your annual registration fees. Basically, you are just trading your current Texas plates for the Blackhorse plates. There will be a fee for personalized plates.

Check here to see if the personalized plate you want is available:

As of July 29, 2017, these three plates are already taken: 11 CAV, 11 ACR, and MEDIC. However, the Blackhorse mind is a creative mind, so I'm sure you can come up with something great for your plate. Just be advised that the personalized plates are limited to six characters; so "BLKHRSE" will not work.

If you have any questions concerning these 11th Cav specialty plates, feel free to email me at

I look forward to seeing these plates on your vehicles driving around The Lone Star State come September.

A Request for Assistance

My name is Scott Lynch at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF). I am reaching out to you to let you know that this year marks the 35th anniversary of The Vietnam Veterans Memorial (The Wall) being built. VVMF is proud to be hosting the 2017 Reading of the Names to help commemorate The Wall's 35th anniversary. In honor of the men and women who gave their lives in Vietnam, volunteers will read the 58,318 names inscribed on The Wall in Washington, D.C. over a four-day period, November 7-10.

If you are interested in being a reader, please go to names to register and obtain more information. Specific name requests will be taken. Readers may sign up for multiple reading times, and group readings are also welcome.

The deadline to register is August 11, 2017.

Please let us know if you have any questions, and we hope you consider participating in this monumental event!
