The Blackhorse Association
Since its founding, the Blackhorse Association has remained dedicated to honoring the members who gave their lives in service to our country and regiment, fostering the bonds formed within the regiment, celebrating its achievements and traditions, supporting the troopers currently serving, and providing educational scholarships for the children of the regiment.

The Blackhorse Association is totally dependent on contributions from our members. Your generous support helps fund The Scholarship Fund for our kids, as well as the basic operations of the Association.
Colonel George S. Patton’s promise to a fallen L Troop soldier to “never let people forget us” and “take care of our kids” inspired the formation of the Blackhorse Association at Fort Knox, Kentucky, in 1969.

History of the 11th ACR
Our regiment has served in the Philippine–American War, World War II, the Vietnam War, the Cold War, Operation Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom (Iraq War), and Afghanistan (Operation Enduring Freedom). The 11th ACR serves as the Opposing Force (OPFOR) for Army and Marine task forces, as well as foreign military forces that train at the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, California.
