In addition to the scheduled events of the reunion, the Blackhorse Association has just arranged for some additional presentations that might be of interest to attendees. The following three seminars will be held on Saturday, July 12.

1 p.m. Seminar: Maneuvers to Capture a Lasting Legacy; presented by Bernie Bostwick.

In today’s uncertain economic climate, understanding and maneuvering how to accomplish financial independence and leave a lasting legacy is a testament to your stewardship. Of course, achieving balance is not easy, but maximizing your giving impact, while not eroding your standard of living is possible. This presentation will explore the fundamentals of leaving a lasting legacy, the common challenges that can be avoided with planning, and several techniques that have proven effective in allowing veterans to do more for themselves, their families, as well as the charities that they cherish, such as the Blackhorse Association.

2 p.m. Seminar: Finding Significance; presented by Bernie Bostwick.

The Finding Significance workshop is aimed at individuals and their families, seeking to deepen their understanding of financial principles. The workshop will be presented by Faithward Advisors and will focus on practical strategies for thriving financially through different life stages from survival to significance, understanding investing, and ensuring the protection of estates and heirs through proper legal and insurance planning. Attendees will also learn how to effectively prepare for retirement and find new tools as they seek to be generous to the nonprofits they cherish.

Bernie Bostwick has spent over three decades as a manager in business and industry, after spending time serving his country in the U.S. Air Force. His career focus for the past twenty years has been financial planning. He received a Certificate in Retirement Planning from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and earned his Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®) designation. He is a member of the International Association of Advisors in Philanthropy (AIP), the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning, and the Christian Leadership Alliance (CLA). Bernie is a member of Kingdom Advisors, earning a Certified Kingdom Advisors (CKA) designation. He is also a CAP (Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy), serving nonprofits by consulting with their donors regarding how to use their resources wisely, in a way that benefits both their families and the charities they love. Bernie resides with his wife Beth, in Lancaster, Pa. Bernie has two daughters and five granddaughters.
